Weekly Musings

Some weeks are bigger than others.........

Sometimes it is a daunting task to be teaching yoga. On those days when my instinct is to hide in the shade and take a deep breath and some time for me.....but no it is 9am and class starts in 30 mins, or its 4pm or even better it is 5am and I have to make my liquid breakfast to tide me over until I get home mid to late morning before my earlybirds class at 615am. This might sound like I am complaining but wait......this actually has a happy turnaround :) as soon as I walk into the yoga space, wherever it is, I feel better.

Most mornings, I thankfully have the opportunity to spend time in my own space, which may or may not give me the peace that I need. So I usually have that to draw upon, but I also find that when the class comes together, the collective energy helps us all fall into the right frame of mind to create change. Some classes start with lots of hellos, little chats and tales, smiles and giggles maybe even a tear or two as we quickly share our selves and our days between classes. Sometimes it is a quiet affair as we stroll in and keep to ourselves as we all create our little yoga space for that day, rolling out our mats, collecting the props we need and then settling in as the last members of the class arrive and settle.

As the first few conscious breaths rise and fall, our bodies begin to relax and settle and we start to let go of whatever it is that we are carrying around, yum, the journey to touch heaven begins. Oh and thats just for me :) not to mention how members of the Dhirata Yoga family feel.............
